Banner ad examples
Banner ads for on-line advertising and email campaigns should be produced to the most commonly used standard sizes. The table below contains several examples using the leaderboard format (728 X 90 px) and the vertical rectangle format (240 x 400 px). If these ads are suitable for your requirements as-is the animated GIFs can be downloaded and used. If you need to edit these ads, download the PSD files and adapt them to your requirements.
Following these examples is a list of all the most commonly used sizes.

Production specifications
If you are preparing new banner ads, be sure to check the physical size and file size specifications provided by the website you plan to place them on. Sometimes file size constraints are very small which may necessitate using a single static image in place of the animated GIF format used in the examples above.
Be sure to optimize the file
Photoshop “Save for web” file optimization typically compresses a JPG or GIF file to roughly 10% of the unoptimized file size without any noticeable loss of quality.
Specify the URL
You can always link to the home page of your site, but if the ad features a specific topic such as banquets, Wyndham Rewards, catering, etc, then think about directing clicks from your ad to a specific page within your website, or creating a custom landing page that clearly states the offer, time limit, and way to act on the offer.
